In the afternoon of October 25, the Signing & Unveiling Ceremony of Charity Innovation and Entrepreneurship Talent Training Base was held in Benyuan Building, Yuehai Campus, Shenzhen University. The ceremony was chaired by Chen Wen, Secretary of Party Committee of School of Government, and the persons who attended the ceremony included: Dai Beifang, former Chairman of Shenzhen Municipal CPPCC & President of Shenzhen Charity Federation; Tian Fu, Vice Chairman of Shenzhen Municipal CPPCC; Zhang Bo, Director of Proposal Committee of Shenzhen Municipal CPPCC & First-Level Inspector; Yang Haobo, Deputy Director of Shenzhen Civil Affairs Bureau; Mao Junfa, President of Shenzhen University; and Zhang Xiaohong, Vice President of Shenzhen University.
The participating leaders and guests first visited the Achievement Exhibition of Charity Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education in Shenzhen University to learn about the specific measures taken by Shenzhen University in promoting charity education and training innovation and entrepreneurship talents. In recent years, Shenzhen University has paid special attention to promoting the talent training model of “charity+”, and exploring interdisciplinary paths for the cultivation of charity innovation and entrepreneurship talents. Established in 2015, the Charity Innovation Class is the first featured program in China to explore the training mode of charity innovation and entrepreneurship talents at the undergraduate level. In the Guangdong Final of the 9th “Internet+” Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition this year, Shenzhen received 26 gold medals, the highest number of gold awards ever recorded in Guangdong Province. Among them, there were three projects of gold medals initiated by the students from the Charity Innovation Class, i.e. Shen Tong – Breakthrough in Neural Repair of Polymer Materials; He Jia Charity - Youth Empowerment Community Governance Platform; “Yi Yan Wei Ding” - Pioneer of Virtual IP Empowerment for Public Welfare Organizations. The charity innovation and entrepreneurship talent training base to be established jointly by the Civil Affairs Bureau and Shenzhen University is also the first one in China build under cooperation between a local government and an institution of higher learning. After the completion of the base, the School of Government and the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Center of Shenzhen University will be responsible for the specific operation of the base.
In her speech, Yang Haobo said that in recent years, the Civil Affairs Bureau has made constant efforts to optimize the policy environment, innovate the system and mechanism, vigorously promote the charity culture, cultivate charity subjects, stimulate the vitality of charity, and actively promote the transformation from traditional charity to modern charity and from “small charity” to “large charity”. Shenzhen University takes the lead in China to carry out the training of charity innovation and entrepreneurship talents at the undergraduate level, which has provided important talent support for Shenzhen to shine the name card “City of Charity”, receiving wide attention and recognition. She pointed out that professional education and talent training are an important guarantee for the sustainable and healthy development of philanthropy and an inevitable requirement for high-quality development, and expected that the Civil Affairs Bureau and Shenzhen University would give full play to their respective advantages on the basis of good cooperation to jointly carry out the interdisciplinary and crossover integration of charity innovation and entrepreneurship talent training, promote the systematization, specialization, professionalism, socialization and internationalization of charity talent teams, establish a cross-field talent exchange mechanism, inject new momentum into the high-quality development of charity, and jointly push forward the healthy development of public welfare and philanthropy.
In her speech, Zhang Xiaohong pointed out that Shenzhen University has achieved fruitful results in innovation and entrepreneurship education since its inception 40 years ago, ranked at the forefront of the State. In the past eight years, the Charity Innovation Class, established based on the major of administration, has trained more than 270 young talents for charity innovation and entrepreneurship, and promoted the implementation of a number of charity projects, and has received wide attention and recognition to its running model. Zhang Xiaohong said that in response to the call of the times, Shenzhen University and Shenzhen Civil Affairs Bureau will work together to establish a charity innovation and entrepreneurship talent training base to jointly cultivate charity talents, seek common development of innovation and entrepreneurship education, build philanthropy undertakings, and repay the society with practical actions. It is expected that the two sides will act in the same direction for in-depth cooperation on the theoretical research of charity education, the construction of the internship system for interdisciplinary innovation and entrepreneurship talents, the creation of student brand projects, and the promotion of the linkage between Shenzhen-Hong Kong-Macao charity innovation and entrepreneurship youth, pooling innovation resources, forces and advantages for making new contributions to the construction of a new pattern of high-quality development of public welfare and philanthropy in Shenzhen.
Witnessed by Dai Beifang, Tian Fu, Mao Junfa and Zhang Bo, Yang Haobo and Zhang Xiaohong signed a cooperation agreement on charity talent training on behalf of Shenzhen Civil Affairs Bureau and Shenzhen University respectively. Afterwards, Dai Beifang, Tian Fu, Mao Junfa, Zhang Bo, Yang Haobo and Zhang Xiaohong jointly unveiled the charity innovation and entrepreneurship talent training base.
After the signing & unveiling ceremony, a symposium was held to give reports, speeches and responses on the construction of Shenzhen’s charity talent teams. The persons who attended the symposium included: the relevant persons from the Organization Department of Shenzhen Municipal Party Committee, Shenzhen Municipal CPPCC, Shenzhen Civil Affairs Bureau, Shenzhen Education Bureau, Shenzhen Human Resources and Social Security Bureau and other government agencies, Shenzhen China Charity Fair Development Center, Shenzhen Charity Federation, Shenzhen Charity Federation, Shenzhen Social Commonweal Foundation, The Association of Charitable Foundations in Shenzhen, Shenzhen Global Philanthropy Institute, Shenzhen Social Work College, Nanshan District Charity Society, SF Foundation, Unilumin Foundation, Xinmu Youth, He Jia Charity and other charity organizations; a number of CPPCC members from Guangdong and Shenzhen; experts, scholars and student representatives from Shenzhen University, South China Normal University and other colleges and universities.
