In the afternoon of August 6, the School of Government held thesecond meeting of the first Executive Council of the Alumni Association of the School of Government in the conference room of Sina Shenzhen Company. A total of nearly 20 members of the Executive Council and invited alumni representatives, including Chen Wen, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School, Zhang Guoqiang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the School, and Chen Jialing, CEO of Sina Shenzhen & President of Alumni Association, attended the meeting. President Chen Jialing chaired the meeting.

The alumni representatives at the meeting reviewed and approved the “Charter of Alumni Association of School of Government (Amendment)”, the “Proposal on Adding Members to the Council of Alumni Association of School of Government”, and the “Plan for the Establishment of Functional Departments of Alumni Association”.

Zhang Guoqiang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the School, introduced the work of the school in promoting the development of the Alumni Association, and said that the school will strengthen the construction of the alumni work team and support the implementation of the resolutions of the Executive Council. The attendees had in-depth exchanges on the responsibilities of the departments of the Alumni Association, and preliminarily identified the relevant heads of the departments. Each department will promote the friendship of alumni and enhance the vitality of the Alumni Association by holding alumni forums, lectures, evening parties and business visits. The meeting discussed the “Plan for the School of Government to Celebrate the 40^thAnniversary of Shenzhen University”, on which the alumni offered suggestions actively, and decided to hold the alumni homecoming, alumni forum, and evening party of teachers, students and alumni during the celebration month of September.

Chen Wen, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School, summarized the nature and purpose of the Alumni Association from the aspects of emotion, resources and added value. First, the Alumni Association is the emotional link between the school and alumni, which sets up a good platform for the exchange between the school and alumni. Second, the alumni and the school can share resources and seek common development. Thirdly, the Alumni Association will continue to add value to alumni, and the school will actively support alumni activities. He looked forward to working hand in hand with alumni to help build and develop the Alumni Association.
